A Lead Toddler (12-18 months) Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for two-year-olds, focusing on their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, observing and assessing children's progress, and collaborating with parents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Planning, organizing, and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of 12-18 month olds.
- Classroom Management:
- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Observation and Assessment:
- Observing and assessing children's development, progress, and learning styles, and using this information to guide instruction and adjust activities.
- Positive Relationships:
- Fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to build a supportive learning community.
- Communication:
- Communicating regularly with parents about their child's progress, development, and any concerns or needs.
- Childcare:
- Providing basic care needs such as diaper changing, feeding, and clothing.
- Positive Guidance:
- Utilizing positive guidance strategies to promote social and emotional development and address challenging behaviors.
- Professional Development:
- Participating in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Teamwork:
- Collaborating with other teachers and staff to implement the program's curriculum and goals.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment that complies with all relevant regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with toddlers is required.
- Strong understanding of child development
- Patient, kind, and nurturing
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- First aid/CPR certified
